Spiritually-Integrated Psychotherapy
Spiritually-Integrated Psychotherapy is a contemplative approach to psychotherapy that honours and prioritizes one’s spiritual life, experiences and questions. This is a space where the full spectrum of your lived human experience is brought to the therapeutic conversation.
Areas of Focus
-
Exploring your sense of purpose and what gives your life meaning. Our society tends to push such questions away in order to focus on productivity and optimization. And yet, you may need time to slow down and ask yourself what your life has been all about, and if that aligns with the life you imagine for yourself.
-
As we change, so may our spiritual identities, practices, and values. This may be simultaneously a liberating experience but also one that involves loss and grief as we move away from cherished spiritual or religious communities and into new ones, or none. New spiritual beliefs and practices may nourish us, but also leave us feeling confused and lost. Spiritually-integrated psychotherapy helps people navigate these experiences.
-
Learning to come to terms with the restlessness of not knowing what will come, of being with uncertainty while still being active participants in our lives and in the world.
-
Spirituality can often bring shifts in what we value and how we relate to our relationships and our work. It is normal, and often fruitful, to intentionally and consciously investigate your identity—past and present—and how it is shaping your life going forward.
-
Cultivating the practice of intentionally being aware of your actions and behaviour, as well as learning to accept what is occurring in the present moment. This is not a practice of passivity, but an active process of putting your attention towards actions and behaviours that are in alignment with your values—those qualities that matter most to you.

A therapeutic conversation that places your spiritual life and questions front and centre
Psychotherapy for people who…
01…want a non-judgemental space to explore their spiritual beliefs and practices without being pathologized.
02…are questioning meaning, identity, and direction in their lives, and want a place where they can approach difficult questions with care and support.
03…find that conventional therapy language doesn’t capture the depth of what they are navigating.
